About Us
Dundas Ontario in Transition is a non-profit organization
committed to making our world a better place. Our goal is to promote
sustainable living by building strong and resilient communities.
Dundas, Ontario, is a community of 25,000 nestled in the
heartland of the Golden Horseshoe bounded by Toronto, Hamilton and
Niagara in central Ontario, Canada. Residents of the Valley Town
are minutes away from picturesque natural beauty, surrounded by
the Niagara Escarpment, Dundas Valley Conservation Area, Christie
Lake Conservation Area, Cootes Paradise and the Royal Botanical
Gardens. Numerous hiking trails, including the famous Bruce Trail,
take you to some of the 121 waterfalls in the Hamilton area, including
Webster's Falls, Tews Falls, Tiffany Falls and Borer's Falls.
Dundas Ontario in Transition embraces the developing concept
of Transition Towns as presented by the work of Rob Hopkins, The
Transition Network Ltd., and the initiatives of Transition Town
Kinsale in Ireland and Transition Town Totnes in England. For more
information on these initiatives please see our link on Resources.
